Course Outline and Faculty

Three half-day morning sessions from 7:30 am to 1:15 pm, Friday through Sunday.

This three-day course is intended for practicing clinical radiologists in both general and subspecialty practice, as well as those working in an academic environment, to review and address important topics in brain, spine, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, pulmonary, oncologic, vascular and ob-gyn imaging. 

UCSF Faculty:  Soonmee Cha, MD (neuro); Travis Henry, MD (thoracic); Tara Morgan, MD (ultrasound); Antonio Westphalen, MD, PhD (abdominal CT/MR).

Upon completion of this course, the attendee should be able to:
1. Differentiate various abnormalities of the abdomen & pelvis using CT, MRI and Ultrasound;
2. Recognize typical and atypical appearances of lung cancer;
3. Describe the proper management of renal carcinomas;
4. Evaluate the adnexa and uterus in patients with abdominal pain and other symptoms;
5. Utilize ultrasound to assess thyroid nodules;
6. Recognize normal and abnormal appearances after bariatric surgery;
7. Interpret musculoskeletal ultrasound;
8. Differentiate brain tumors from tumor mimics.

A credit card is required for confirmation, and you will be charged an advance one-night’s deposit when making your reservation.  The group rate will be offered 3 days pre-/post- on a space-available basis. Room rates are subject to 13.38% state/county taxes.  $50 nightly room charge for third person (maximum occupancy). $35 nightly resort fee includes guest-room and resort common areas, access to Mandalay Bay pools, in-room coffee/tea maker. Overnight parking is $24 (subject to change). Cancellation requests must be made at least 30 days prior to scheduled arrival to receive a full refund; cancellations made less than 30 days will forfeit the one-night’s deposit. All early departures, no shows, and late arrivals will be charged the contracted nightly rate for each night the reserved room is not occupied by the individual.  Check-in is 3:00 pm, check-out is 12 noon.
