Topics covered will include basic radiation safety, the role of the radiation safety program and the effects of ionizing radiation. Also covered will be radiation detection and personal protection methods related to ionizing radiation. This course is an excellent option for the registered technologist to refresh their knowledge of radiation safety in a minimal amount of time. This course can be used to provide required radiation safety training for the non-technologist performing bone densitometry measurements in the state of Texas.
