Course Objectives:
At the conclusion of the course the participant should be able to:
Explain the difference between positive and negative contrast media.
List and give an example of the four methods of contrast media introduction.
Explain the difference in ionic and non-ionic contrast agents
Define:
a. Concentration
b. Osmolality
c. Viscosity
d. Ionic
Identify which contrast agents are ionic and non-ionic.
Know the dose of iodinated contrast agents for pediatric patients.
Identify high risk factors in patients for contrast media injection.
List the systems affected by a severe contrast media reaction.
Know uses of the indicated drugs from the drug list
