Description:
A Note from the Course Director

Dear Colleagues,

Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Continuing Medical Education (MSK CME) planning team has been closely monitoring the impact COVID-19 is having worldwide. Our response to this global public health issue must be proactive and clear; protecting the health and wellbeing of our patients, caregivers, visitors, and staff is our first and foremost priority.

Due to an abundance of caution, our symposium, Oncology Acupuncture: From Neuroscience to Patient Wellbeing, will now take place as a one-day, simulcast program.

We will use our state-of-the-art simulcast technology to broadcast this course live on Friday, April 24, from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (EST). All lectures will be delivered using video stream and teleconferencing services.

By making these changes, we are acting in the best interest of MSK patients and medical staff, and the trainees attending our symposium. When a public health crisis like this occurs, the medical and research communities must work together to continue to provide exceptional patient care and share knowledge with one another.

Please note that MSK CME will contact all current registrants regarding switching registration over to the Live Simulcast. Please email cme@mskcc.org if you have any questions or concerns.

We look forward to you joining us for the first-ever oncology acupuncture symposium.

Sincerely,

Jun J. Mao
Laurance S. Rockefeller Chair in Integrative Medicine
Chief, Integrative Medicine Service
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

This symposium will focus on the neuroscientific mechanisms of acupuncture for pain and symptom management and its application in cancer care. We will connect neuroscience and basic research with clinical evidence for oncology acupuncture symptom management. Our international panelists will also present the progress and challenges of providing acupuncture services in the oncology setting.

MSK CME is pleased to offer Society for Acupuncture Research (SAR) members a discount to attend this symposium. Please see details below.

Target Audience

This symposium is intended for health care providers (physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and acupuncturists) who diagnose, manage, and treat side effects of cancer treatment and those who develop programs (administrators) to improve quality of life for people with cancer.

Live Simulcast*

Through the live video stream, you will be able to see presentations, hear live audio, interact online and claim CME credit. Registration for the simulcast is required; please complete course registration through the 'Registration' link above. A link and instructions to view the Symposium will be emailed to you the day before the course begins.
