Description:
This course will cover new developments in neurobiology and pharmacology reflected in advanced treatment approaches to psychiatric disorders. Each day, we will consider a major group of disorders, focusing on more complex and refractory conditions. As we review the evidence supporting the effectiveness of new treatments, we will discuss where these therapies fit in maximizing treatment response. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss their own cases and to develop treatment plans for complex patients, whose problems illustrate common clinical challenges, including the challenge of integrating psychological and biological therapies. Each day’s session covers a different group of clinical situations.
