The Peaks Hotel: Book early at the Peaks Resort. Sorry but due to the small group size the hotel does not offer us a discount. The conference is at the Peaks Resort and Spa which is located in Mountain Village. Less expensive hotels and Airbnb or VRBO rooms are available in downtown Telluride however you have to take the free 12-minute gondola ride (beautiful view of the mountain and town) to get from downtown to the Mountain Village. The gondola runs from 6:30am to 12 midnight.

Telluride Info

I think it is the best ski location in America. You should buy your lift tickets online before you go to get the best prices.

You do not need a rental car in Telluride to get around. The town is only a few blocks long. Shuttles can take from the airport in Montrose to Telluride for about $100 or you can rent a car. You can also fly into Grand Junction Co and rent a car…about 1.75-hour drive to Telluride…flights and car rentals from Grand Junction are usually less expensive that flying into Montrose (Montrose is about an hour drive to Telluride).

The Peaks Hotel and Resort is in the Mountain Village which is at 9,450 ft. The Peaks Hotel (where the conference is scheduled) is a beautiful hotel with a large gym where the movie stars stay; very nice but more expensive. You can still go to the gym at the Peaks if you stay in town, just pay a fee (about $35 a day, but worth it).

The free gondola connects the Mountain Village with downtown Telluride from 6:30 am to midnight.

Downtown Telluride is where many of the bars and restaurants are located. The rooms in Downtown Telluride tell to be less expensive than the Mountain Village. From downtown Telluride is a hiking trail up into the mountains that in the winter takes you to a frozen waterfall: a breathtaking walk and view.
