Over the last decade, hypertension has risen to the number one factor in the global burden of disease and its management can be challenging specially in patients with comorbidities. Despite increased awareness and improved treatment, the prevalence of hypertension is rising and controlled rates are stagnant.
This joint educational program reviews the latest clinical guidelines from the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association, raising important questions about hypertension diagnosis, treatment and best practices. It addresses challenges from the viewpoints of Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Cardiology.
