Description:
Neuroradiology: Practice to Innovation is intended to provide a practical discussion and review of common diseases involving the brain, head/neck, and spine. It will also provide an overview of common imaging strategies, as well as an update in new trends, relevant techniques, and applications in diagnostic and/or therapeutic neuroradiology. In addition, this course will review common endovascular and spinal interventional techniques utilized in neuroradiology.
This course is designed for the practicing radiologist whose work involves neuroradiology, or those involved in the neurourological sciences, neurosurgery, neurology, and/or related fields.
Course Learning Objectives Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
-Analyze pediatric face and neck masses, and pediatric cervical spine imaging -Apply the revised WHO classification of intra-axial neoplasms -Discuss imaging of inflammatory disease and post-operative change in the temporal bone -Review non-neoplastic myelopathy -Detect intradural extramedullary pathology -Review CVJ – the basics and congenital -Diagnose and treat spinal CSF leaks -Demonstrate physician leadership in the era of patient-centric, value-driven health care -Recognize pediatric abusive head trauma -Discuss unusual lesions of the skull base and skull base infection -Review epilepsy imaging -Apply the clinical use and safety issues of gadolinium based contrast agents -Identify fetal CNS anomalies and methods of imaging of hypoxic ischemic injury in the newborn -Review ACR recommendations on contrast agent use
