Description:
Overview:
Dermoscopy permits the observer to visualize skin structures located below the stratum corneum that are not visible to the unaided eye. The morphology visualized through dermoscopy has led to improve clinical diagnostic accuracy with increased sensitivity and specificity for the detection of cutaneous malignancies.
Educational Workshop Room:
Equipment will be available for hands-on practice and demonstrations for all participants during breaks and lunch.
Objectives:
1. Outline a logical and easy to follow framework for the dermoscopic evaluation of cutaneous lesions. 2. Identify the features of both melanocytic and non-melanocytic lesions. 3. Describe a management approach, based on dermoscopic findings, to correctly identify lesions requiring biopsy.
