Caring for the stroke patient population requires quick assessment, transport to an appropriate facility and immediate intervention to ensure the best patient outcomes. Working as a team and looking at each step in the path of a stroke patient — from their living room to the hospital bed — is essential. Technology and new medical evidence is guiding our goals of care to prioritize early intervention to decrease disability and mortality in those suffering from stroke. From EMS first responders to inpatient care teams, this course will highlight the vital role each member plays in providing state of the art stroke care to the patients of our community.
