This course provides an in-depth coverage of ultrasound imaging techniques in obstetrics. The course begins with a review of the physical principles of gray scale imaging and Doppler ultrasound including discussions on instrumentation and methods that are used to optimize the quality of diagnostic data obtained by the use of gray scale ultrasound as well as color, power and spectral Doppler modes. Specific applications are then addressed beginning with a review of the relevant anatomy and physiology followed by in-depth presentations on examination techniques, biometric measurements, protocols and diagnostic criteria.
