Description:
There are currently multiple definitions of sepsis in use, and each continues to drive certain aspects of research, quality, and improvement. This course covers the evolving definitions of sepsis, and the controversies therein, to aid providers in understanding the diagnosis, coding, and regulatory aspects of sepsis.
At the conclusion of the online course, participants will be able to: *Define the symptoms of sepsis. *Discover the evolution from Sepsis 1 through the release of Sepsis 3. *Describe the SEP-1 core measure bundles for severe sepsis and septic shock. *Identify a patient at high risk of mortality using a qSOFA calculator.
This course is intended for Physicians of all specialties, Nurses, and Other Health Care Professionals with appropriate CME credit and nursing contact hours offered for each profession.
