This course covers the evolving definitions of sepsis, and the controversies therein, to aid providers in understanding the diagnosis, coding, and regulatory aspects of sepsis. At the conclusion of the online course, participants will be able to: *Define the symptoms of sepsis. *Discover the evolution from Sepsis 1 through the release of Sepsis 3. *Describe the SEP-1 core measure bundles for severe sepsis and septic shock. *Identify a patient at high risk of mortality using a qSOFA calculator.
