Description:
Although most medical imaging professionals are aware of the existence of practice standards, many may not understand what they represent to practitioners and the public. This article examines the origins of medical practice standards and the development of the Practice Standards for Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy. Specifically, the Radiography Practice Standards are discussed to provide the reader with a synopsis of what they are and how they apply to everyday professional life. Legal applications and ethical implications of the practice standards are also introduced.
